Dolnośląska Fabryka Mebli in Świebodzice is chiefly known as the producer of armchair type 366. According to a publication by Magdalena Smaga (Museum of Krakow, 2016), the model was developed around 1962 at the factory's model centre, and its designer was Józef Chierowski, a graduate and long-standing lecturer at the art academy in Wrocław. Smaga also notes the armchair's similarity to model 364, attributed to Barbara Fenrych Węcławska.

Since 2014, company 366 Concept has produced a re-edition of armchair 366 based on the original drawings.

The Świebodzice plant, specialising in upholstered furniture, was already operating in 1952, when it became one of the enterprises subordinate to Centralny Zarząd Przemysłu Meblarskiego (Central Board of the Furniture Industry). Armchair 366 was produced here until 1970. In January 1970, the factory was incorporated into Świdnicki Ośrodek Przemysłu Meblarskiego (Świdnica Furniture Industry Centre), and in 1973 the entire grouping – the plants in Świdnica, Świebodzice, Lubawka and Bystrzyca Kłodzka, and later also in Wałbrzych, Kłodzko and Srebrna Góra – adopted the name Dolnośląskie Fabryki Mebli. From 1973, IKEA was the main export customer; in 1979, the enterprise employed 3541 people. In March 1991, the grouping was divided into independent plants.
