Musterring was founded in 1938 by furniture architect Josef Höner. The brand does not have its own production facilities – it designs collections and sells them in cooperation with selected manufacturers. After the war, operations resumed in 1948, following the currency reform.
In 1949, the M49 bedroom suite was created and sold 250,000 units. In 1953, it received the Grand Prix, presented by Minister of Economic Affairs Ludwig Erhard at the “Everyone Should Live Better” exhibition.
In 1959, Musterring entered the Austrian market. The company remains in the hands of the Höner family: in 1968, the founder’s son Bruno Höner took over management, followed in 2002 by his sons Oliver, Hendrik and Alexander, and in 2025 by Christopher Höner of the fourth generation. Vintage Musterring furniture arrives at MIDMOD as individual pieces.
