The company was founded in 1922 by Johannes Sudbrock and his wife Therese, who opened a cabinetmaking workshop in Wiedenbrück in eastern Westphalia. In 1928, they rebuilt the premises and added a furniture shop, where they sold their own products. In 1948, their son, Franz Josef Sudbrock, joined the company. Towards the end of the 1940s, the company began producing wardrobes independently, and before 1960 it exhibited at the Cologne furniture fair for the first time.

As no suitable plot was available in Wiedenbrück, the first factory hall, with an area of approximately 1200 m², was built in 1957 in nearby Bokel, now part of Rietberg. In the 1950s, employment increased from 5 to 27 people, and in the 1960s and 1970s – to around 70. In the 1960s, model 800, a wardrobe in the form of a wall unit, proved popular. In 1977, “Panama” was introduced, the first modular hallway furniture programme offering a choice of carcass dimensions.

In the 1990s, the “Novita” shelving system brought the company into the residential furniture segment. The third generation was represented by Johannes Sudbrock, managing director since 1994. Today, the company employs around 120 people and produces made-to-order furniture based on a modular system.
