Bamboo chest from the mid-20th century, 1960s
An original bamboo chest in the Colonial style, dating from the mid-20th century.
Its distinctive construction, made from round bamboo slats, gives it a unique rhythmic pattern and an exotic character.
The form and materials used point to production inspired by Asian craftsmanship – chests of this type were used both as travel trunks and as interior furnishings in the Colonial style.
The chest retains its original brass hardware: a front clasp and side carrying handles.
The interior has been left unfinished, consistent with the item’s age.

Thanks to its form, it works perfectly as:
