Jörgen Birger Roland Fogelquist was born in 1927 in Mariestad, Skaraborg, and died in 2005 in Skåne. He was a Swedish artist. He grew up in Mariestad and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts from 1945 to 1949, at Académie Libre in Stockholm from 1950 to 1951, and at the Academy of Fine Arts from 1951 to 1956. He became known not only for his graphic art but also for around fifty public decorations made from various materials. Through concrete art featuring alternating curved and rectilinear forms, Fogelquist moved towards abstract expressionism. His paintings are characterised by rapid movements, surprising imagination, and an intense interplay of colours. One of the more interesting of his monumental works is a mural in the machine hall of the then Svenska Tobaks AB in Malmö.
The work is in original vintage condition. The frame and paper show signs of age.
