Description
Tip Ton chair, Vitra, designed by E. Barber & J. Osgerby, Switzerland, 2000s
Tip Ton chair designed by Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby for the Swiss furniture company Vitra in 2011. It stands out for its lightness, durability and minimalist form. Made from a single piece of recyclable polypropylene. It features a forward-tilt function, enabled by the angle of the sled runners (~9°), which supports better posture and active sitting. The chair has undergone a light cosmetic refresh, and has been cleaned and protected with a ceramic treatment designed for polypropylene materials that enhances their colour. The chair has a very interesting coloration: its original yellow-green lime colour is covered with brown paint, with visible areas of wear revealing the original finish.
The chair bears the manufacturer’s and designers’ marks.
