Copper “Woman in a Dress” candlestick in the style of Bjørn Wiinblad, Russia, 1970s

Highly decorative, double-arm candlestick made of patinated copper, an excellent example of sculptural artistic craftsmanship from the 1970s. The design clearly references the distinctive fairytale and folk aesthetic popularised by the renowned Danish artist Bjørn Wiinblad.

The item takes the form of a stylised female figure. Her outstretched arms flow seamlessly into two shaped cups designed to hold candles. The intricate details are particularly striking: a smooth bodice contrasts with a flared, conical dress featuring a pronounced textured surface. The figure’s head is adorned with a tall, openwork and richly ornamented headdress, from which movable metal elements resembling earrings hang.

The candlestick rests on a stable, oval, hollow base. The original paper production label has been preserved inside the body.

The item has been preserved in its original condition.
