Hanna Lachert was born in 1927 and died in 2021. She was the daughter of Tadeusz Sobocki and Maria Jaworska. She grew up in Warsaw and served as a medic during the Warsaw Uprising. After the war, she studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw under Jan Kurzątkowski. As an interior architect and furniture designer, she collaborated with the Institute of Industrial Design (IWP), and in the late 1950s with Cepelia and the Ład cooperative. Her designs for Ład included, among other things, a double-sided desk accessible from both sides, and an armchair with an organic form and soft upholstery.
