Baleri Italia was founded in 1984 by Enrico Baleri (1942–2025) and Marilisa Decimo. The company published collections designed by Baleri himself, newcomers Philippe Starck, Hannes Wettstein and Luigi Baroli, and established designers Hans Hollein, Alessandro Mendini, Riccardo Dalisi and Angelo Mangiarotti.
Previously, in 1979, Enrico Baleri co-founded Alias and served as its artistic director until 1983. In 2004, he sold Baleri Italia to the Nino Cerruti group.
