Bröderna Malmströms Metallvarufabrik (BM), known as AB BM-armatur from 1957, produced electric lighting fixtures from 1904 to 1974. Its headquarters and factories were located on Porslinsgatan in Malmö, and from 1957 to 1974 in Klågerup. In 1932, the company became the first in Sweden to manufacture lamp holders bearing the S mark; the catalogue covers were designed by graphic designer Nils Wedel.
The company designed and manufactured lighting for public buildings, department stores, offices, hotels, schools and churches, as well as railway, hospital, street and sports lighting, domestic lamps and tubular steel furniture, along with electric clocks, ashtrays and decorative objects made of brass and bronze. Its lamps were designed, among others, by Carl-Axel Acking.
