The company was established on 30 June 1959 in Recanati, in the Marche region, as Harvey Creazioni. It was founded by Raimondo, Giovanni, Virgilio, Giuseppe and Giannunzio Guzzini, and initially produced enamelled copper decorative objects. Adolfo Guzzini joined in 1963, when the company adopted the name Harvey Creazioni Snc. Early lighting production was based mainly on luminaires made from plastics.
The first catalogue of lamps, published in 1964, was designed by Giancarlo Capici; Luigi Massoni was responsible for the company’s image, as well as exhibition and packaging designs. The Shuttle (1989) and Nuvola (1998) luminaires received the Compasso d’Oro ADI award, as did the group of companies in 1991 and Adolfo Guzzini for lifetime achievement in 2018.
Since 2019, iGuzzini Illuminazione has belonged to the Swedish Fagerhult group; the founding family left the company in 2021. Today, the company specialises in architectural lighting for interiors and outdoor spaces.
