The history of Paged brings together two lines. The first is the bentwood furniture factory in Jasienica, established in 1881 by Josef Hofmann on the site of a former sawmill and match factory; in 1923, it became part of the Thonet-Mundus concern. The second is Polska Agencja Eksportu Drewna, established in 1931 and operating under the name PAGED from 1932.
In 1951, Centrala Handlu Zagranicznego PAGED was established to export products of the Polish timber industry. In the 1990s, the company was privatised – the central office became the joint-stock company Paged S.A. and built a production and trading holding.
Paged has been producing the No. 14 chair for decades, designed in 1859 by Michael Thonet; in recent years, it has been reinterpreted by, among others, Studio Spark in the AlterEgo collection.
