Description

Pair of 360 armchairs, designed by Janusz Różański, PRL, 1960s

The “360” model was designed by Janusz Różański in 1959 and manufactured by the Lower Silesian Furniture Factory in Świebodzin.
This design represents a significant period in Polish mid-century modernism, combining early mass production with a high standard of craftsmanship.
The model is highly sought-after by collectors and rarely appears on the secondary market, making it exceptionally difficult to acquire.

The armchairs have been restored. In keeping with the original design, the armrests were finished with walnut veneer, while the metal leg frames underwent professional rechroming to restore their original finish.
The internal seat padding was replaced and the seat structure cleaned. The armchairs were upholstered in a linen-blend fabric with a multitone weave in shades of beige and brown, creating a subtle, organic pattern.
The model is particularly distinguished by its combination of varied materials and production techniques.
These armchairs are a prime example of PRL-era design.
