Pair of Type 53 armchairs designed by Jaroslav Šmidek for TON, manufactured in Czechoslovakia in the 1960s.
The armchairs are made of beech wood; the distinguishing feature of this model is its bentwood armrests, joined to the backrest with metal fittings.
The seats have been reupholstered in soft, textured orange-and-beige upholstery fabric, while the wooden elements have been restored.
