Porcelain side table with hand-painted floral decoration, Germany
Description
Porcelain side table with hand-painted floral decoration, Germany.
Elegant, decorative porcelain side table by the renowned German von Schierholz manufactory (Plaue, Thuringia).
The piece is decorated with hand-painted floral motifs and subtle gilding, characteristic of classic European porcelain in the Rococo style.
The shaped tabletop with a wavy edge is decorated with bouquets of roses and wildflowers, surrounded by a delicate gilt trellis.
The central column rests on a trefoil base, also richly decorated with hand-painted patterns and gilt ornaments, creating a cohesive and exceptionally decorative whole.
On the undersideis the von Schierholz mark (PM with a crown, 1817) and a “Handmade in Germany” sticker, indicating production in the mid-20th century.
Ideal as a decorative element, table centrepiece, or plinth for a sculpture or vase.
Condition: very good vintage condition. No cracks or repairs. Minor signs of use, commensurate with age. Light wear to the gilding in some areas.
Material: Porcelain, hand-painted, gilt.
Period: mid-20th century (approx. 1950–1980).
