Description

Vintage armchair, designed by Eberhard Geißler, Oelsa, Germany, 1970s

The modular armchair was designed by Eberhard Geißler and manufactured by the Oelsa-Rabenau Furniture Factory in 1978, in what was then East Germany. This designer specialised in modular and multifunctional furniture. A distinctive feature of the armchair is its removable armrest, which, when combined with a second armchair, allows two modules to be transformed into a sofa using a special butterfly fastening. The armchair’s structure is based on a shell made of upholstery foam, furniture board and wood. The seat, upholstered in soft fabric in a deep purple colour, is set on webbing and zigzag springs.

Additional modules are available on request.
