Mino Ceretti is a painter. He was born in 1930 in Milan. He studied at Brera Academy under Aldo Carpi and graduated in 1955. He was one of the co-founders of the Realismo Esistenziale group, whose name was coined by critic Mario Valsecchi.
He held his first solo exhibition of paintings in 1955 at Galleria San Fedele in Milan; that same year and in 1959, he exhibited works at Quadriennale di Roma. In 1960, he took part in Premio Apollinaire in Milan. For many years, he taught at Albertina Academy in Turin and at Brera Academy, combining his painting practice with teaching at both institutions.
In 2021, Museo Civico Floriano Bodini in Gemonio presented an exhibition of his paintings, “La pittura come destino” (9 May – 13 June 2021, curated by Lara Treppiede). Mino Ceretti should not be confused with Giorgio Ceretti, the architect and designer from Turin's Gruppo Strum. At MIDMOD, the artist's works appear as individual pieces from the secondary market.
