Mino Ceretti was born in Milan in 1930. He attended the Brera Academy under the guidance of Aldo Carpi, graduating in 1955. Together with Guerreschi, Romagnoni, Ferroni, Banchieri, and Vaglieri, he helped establish the existential realism group defined by M. Valsecchi. His work constitutes important documentation of this movement. His first solo exhibition took place in 1955 at the San Fedele Gallery in Milan. In the 1970s, he devoted himself to still lifes. He held solo exhibitions at the Solferino Gallery in Milan, Studio 3B in Bolzano, Studio della Quaglia in Verona, and, in 1975, at Galleria Correggio in Parma. His work was featured in all reviews devoted to the Milanese art scene at the dawn of the 1960s, including From Existential Realism to New History in Piacenza and Milan by G. Mascherpa in 1979 and 1981. He also took part in the exhibition Pop Art and Italy, curated by R. Bossaglia and S. Zatti, at the Visconteo Castle in Pavia in 1983. He exhibited at the Montrasio Arte Gallery in Monza. His pictorial research confirms a continuous exploration of the theme of the disintegration of the image through the development of series of landscapes and figures in which the object is shown as it disappears. These are cycles between sky and earth and residual landscapes. In 1995, he took part in the exhibition Figures of Painting – Art in Italy 1954-1966 at Palazzo Sarcinelli in Conegliano Veneto, where he exhibited again in 1998. He was a teacher at the Albertina Academy in Turin.
