Vermund Larsen was born on 27 February 1909 in Hellerup and died on 28 February 1970 in Aalborg. He moved to Aalborg at the age of fourteen; after commercial school, he worked at M. Kragelunds Fabrikker and then completed his military service.

In 1935, he bought the closed-down ironworks company P.C. Petersen. Initially, he produced window fittings and small steel items, later steel furniture, and from 1941 also wooden furniture. In 1944, he patented a window lock. From 1948, he focused on office furniture, particularly office chairs.
