Description

An exceptional desk sculpture with a practical function, created in the classic, dynamic aesthetic of Art Deco and 1930s Streamline Moderne. The piece is made of polished aluminium set on a contrasting black base.

The design depicts a stylised, streamlined miniature aeroplane in ascent. The aircraft is mounted on a sculptural arm in the geometric shape of a lightning bolt, symbolising the speed and modernity of the Machine Age. The whole piece rests on an elongated oval base, with a circular recess integrated into its front section for ash or small office accessories.

This aerodynamic, futuristic design gives the piece the distinctive, luxurious aesthetic of the era in which modern aviation was born. The combination of the gleaming metallic surface and the expressive, dynamic line of the base maximises the object’s visual impact.
