Brutalist silver-plated candlestick, 1970s
Description
A candlestick made of silver-plated metal in the 1970s. The design represents the Brutalist style, combining a raw finish with a geometric and expressive form.
The structure is based on a stable, three-part base composed of overlapping triangular elements with irregular, textured surfaces. From the centre of the base rises a slender, tall stem of varying width, which tapers smoothly through the central section and then widens towards the top.
The candlestick cup is formed by a matching triangular chalice with a deep, round opening designed for a traditional tall candle.
The metal surface is covered with natural patina and visible signs of the passage of time.
