Description

Large table lamps, Eriksen for Lucid, 2000s

A pair of large Lucid table lamps from the Novotel Airport Warsaw hotel, located at Frederic Chopin Airport (Okęcie).
This is not a typical retail lamp—it is a model designed for intensive use in an international-standard hotel environment. The lamps were part of a professional hotel interior scheme, as evidenced by the original label on the underside of the base.
Items of this type rarely appear on the secondary market through private sales. They are an interesting example of hospitality-sector furnishings from the turn of the 1990s and 2000s—a period when hotel design began combining functionality with a distinctive, soft modernist form.
Character and form
A model with a large, distinctive silhouette:
height: 63 cm,
width: 50 cm
The wide, gently curved shade made of plastic (not glass) gives the lamp visual lightness and durability, which were essential in hotel applications.
The construction combines:
bent plywood in a natural wood tone,
lacquered plastic elements in pastel blue,
a stabilising metal base.
The form is organic, gentle and slightly futuristic.

Why is this item interesting?
– Hotel provenance—part of a professional interior scheme
– Large, rare size
– Stable construction designed for intensive use
– Recognisable Lucid brand
– Documented provenance (Novotel Office Airport Warsaw sticker)

The lamps carry the history of the place—one of the main hotels at Warsaw Okęcie International Airport. They are an interesting collectible for those who appreciate objects with “provenance”.
