Wooden Tray with Geometric Inlays, 1950s

Description

Unique decorative vintage-style wooden tray made from numerous small pieces of wood forming an eye-catching geometric composition of parquetry and inlay.

The centre features a regular pattern of small rectangular pieces of wood arranged alternately in different directions.
The whole composition is surrounded by a decorative border of diagonally arranged pieces, creating a distinct frame.
The tray has a distinctive polygonal, subtly stylised shape and four decorative, shaped handles made from darker wood.
The combination of golden and dark brown tones gives it an exceptionally decorative character.
It can be used as a serving tray, but also works well as a decorative accent on a dining table, chest of drawers or coffee table.
Construction: decorative composition made from numerous wooden elements.
The surface retains an attractive, warm wood tone and visible patina.
The elements and edges show minor signs of wear consistent with the item’s age.

An interesting piece for collectors of antique wooden objects, inlay work, parquetry and decorative utilitarian objects from the mid-20th century.
