Space Age lamp with orange shade, 1970s

Description

Space Age lamp with orange shade, 1970s
An orange table lamp in the Space Age/mid-century modern style, made in Europe in the 1970s.
Its distinguishing feature is a two-layer blown-glass shade in a vivid orange colour, with a characteristic “UFO” shape. The glass beautifully diffuses the light, creating a warm, atmospheric effect.
The base is made of cream-coloured lacquered wood, creating a contrast typical of the period’s design.

The form and colour palette draw on design traditions associated with the following styles:
Murano (Vistosi, Venini – stylistically)
Space Age design (1960s–1970s)
Italian and German design of the period

Ideal for interiors: vintage / mid-century modern, eclectic and design-led
Good vintage condition: glass with no cracks, visible natural wear on the electrical components (patina on the lamp fittings), the fitting is in working order.
Power supply: 2 light sources, European plug, inline switch.
