Scandinavian modular aluminium candleholders, Germany, 1970s

Description

An original set of two modular candleholders made from cast aluminium, dating from the 1970s and 1980s. Their minimalist, geometric form is perfectly suited to the aesthetics of German and Scandinavian modernism.

Each module has four arms ending in candleholders. The elements can be used separately as two four-arm candleholders or positioned vertically to create an impressive arrangement for eight candles. Thanks to their modular construction, a variety of decorative configurations can be created.

The raw, satin-finished aluminium accentuates the industrial character of the design and allows the candleholders to blend perfectly with vintage, Mid-Century Modern, Brutalist, and contemporary interiors.

Natural signs of use are visible, along with minor scuffs and localised discolouration typical of cast aluminium from this period. The construction is stable and in very good condition.
