Modernist smoking set, 1950s
A rare modernist smoking set from the 1950s, most likely made in Germany or Czechoslovakia.
The set consists of:
two three-legged ashtrays,
a central spherical cigarette container.
The form is clearly inspired by the Atomic/Sputnik aesthetic characteristic of mid-century design. The slender metal legs are finished with original cream-coloured feet. The set is finished in an attractive green enamel with metal rims.
The central spherical element with openings is particularly decorative and rarely found in sets of this type.
Material: enamelled metal, brushed/nickel-plated metal, plastic

Condition: good vintage condition, natural patina and signs of use commensurate with age
Dimensions: ashtrays – height approx. 5 cm, diameter 7 cm,
central element, cigarette holder – height 17 cm
The set is ideal for mid-century modern and retro interiors, bars, offices or collections of 1950s design.
