Description

Original vintage GARANT Electronic 6 Jewels table clock, characterised by a distinctive Space Age / Mid-Century Modern aesthetic.

The clock features a striking, rounded black case, chrome bezel and minimalist black dial with bright hour markers and a distinctive red seconds hand.
The overall design is perfectly in keeping with the industrial style of the 1960s and 1970s.
The clock’s form and construction resemble early electronic clocks from the transitional period before quartz movements became widespread.
The origin of this particular example has not been confirmed.
Given that GARANT clocks of this type are available on the vintage market as Japanese-made products, Japanese origin may be assumed; however, without a “Made in Japan” marking, I cannot state this with complete certainty.

Electronic, 6-jewel (“6 Jewels”).
The clock is in working order — the movement operates correctly.

Condition
Good vintage condition, with minor signs of wear typical of its age. The case shows small scratches and scuffs, while the chrome elements have retained their attractive lustre.
