When we speak of a truly unique and rare design, this is precisely the kind of piece we have in mind. An armchair designed by Franco Albini for Tecta in 1933. Franco Albini was a renowned, world-class designer who worked both in Ponti’s and Lancia’s studios. The armchair’s design embodies the principles of the Bauhaus School, while incorporating details not found in the work of such masters as Mies van der Rohe or Marcel Breuer. The combination of rigid leather with a structure made of chrome-plated tubes, however, is a nod to Mies van der Rohe’s MR model. Of particular note is the highly complex armrest detail, which defines the armchair’s silhouette in a geometric form. The seat and backrest are made from a single piece of thick genuine leather, which has acquired a beautiful patina over the years. The back of the headrest is joined with leather straps, while the seat is supported by springs. The armchair is fully original and bears the Tecta logo; the quality of its workmanship is exceptional.

The armchair has been preserved in its original condition from the 1950s. It is a museum-quality piece, and any repair or interference with its original structure would compromise the design. It has patina and scratches. The seat height is 37 cm.
