Pair of Rounded Armchairs, Denmark, 1960s
Description
Pair of Rounded Armchairs, Denmark, 1960s
A set of two armchairs manufactured in Denmark in the 1960s. They are upholstered in a thick black-and-white striped fabric. Black and white form a classic, timeless colour combination. The striped pattern adds dynamism and variety to an interior. This bold contrast is one of the defining features of Mid-Century Modern furniture. The armchairs are low and have a rounded, tub-shaped form. The seat cushion is loose, while the backrest is embellished with black buttons. The short legs are made of solid wood and finished in black. These armchairs would work well in both classic and modern interiors. This is a rarely seen model whose design is attracting an increasingly broad circle of good-design connoisseurs.
The armchairs have been preserved in their original vintage condition. The upholstery is original. They have minor soiling, abrasions, and areas of fading on the fabric. The seat is 37 cm high.
