Description

Minimalist leather chairs, POL International, Germany, 1960s

A set of two minimalist chairs made in Germany by POL International in the 1960s. The armchairs are upholstered in black genuine leather with longitudinal stitching. The minimalist L-shaped base is made of chrome-plated steel. This model was probably a custom-made piece created for a private client. The armchairs are made from the highest-quality materials. This is a superb, highly detailed and refined example of craftsmanship. They have an elegant line and a form ahead of their time. Their silhouette shows a strong influence of postmodern HIGH-TECH. design.

The upholstered furniture manufacturer POL International Möbel GmbH commenced operations in 1960. From the outset, the company was characterised by high-quality precision workmanship and the high quality of its materials. In 2017, the company changed its name to POL International SITZMÖBEL GmbH and to this day designs furniture exclusively to order.

The armchairs are preserved in their original vintage condition. They show minor signs of age and minimal scuffing. The seat height is 46 cm.

The colours of the products shown in the photographs may vary slightly from the actual colours. This is due to individual monitor settings and the type of lighting—the photographs were taken in artificial light, which may affect the perception of shades. We nevertheless make every effort to ensure that the photographs reflect the actual appearance of the product as accurately as possible. The listing may include photographs of the item shown in an interior. These are for illustrative purposes only.
