Description

PRL Chest of Drawers, Bydgoskie Furniture Factories, Poland, 1960s

The chest of drawers consists of a solid carcass veneered in ash and features four drawers with Scandinavian-style handles, as well as a pair of doors behind which there is a long removable shelf. The turned, tapered legs are made of solid ash.
The design of this chest of drawers references Scandinavian aesthetics. Compared with other sideboards produced during the PRL era, it stands out for its low height.

The piece has undergone professional restoration, which highlighted the pronounced grain pattern. The chest looks very good in person, although there is a small veneer defect on the top, visible in the photographs.
The back of the piece bears a well-preserved maker’s mark.
