Description

Tall ceramic vase made in Scandinavia in the 1960s. The vase was hand-shaped from thick clay. This is an excellent example of Scandinavian minimalism, combining the austerity of its form with an organic, artisanal character. The vessel has a simple cylindrical shape, while its edges retain natural, subtle irregularities that testify to its handmade construction. The eye is drawn above all to the unique surface finish: dynamic, overlapping patches in shades of deep cobalt and light blue are interspersed with grey, matt abrasions. In places, natural beige clay emerges from beneath the rough coating, creating an intriguing contrast of textures. The dark, raw interior of the vase further emphasises its original clay character. The piece is displayed on a geometric concrete plinth that perfectly complements the modern, muted aesthetic of wabi-sabi and Nordic design.

The vase is in original vintage condition.
