Vintage carved elephant-shaped bookends
A pair of decorative bookends in the shape of carved elephants. Made from solid wood in a dark, warm tone. The details – tusks, eyes and claws – are made from a lightweight decorative material that emphasises the sculptural form.
The bookends are sturdy and heavy, making them excellent for keeping books stable on a shelf. Thanks to their impressive form, they can also serve as decorative objects in a bookcase, study or living room.
The elephant motif was popular in interior design during the second half of the 20th century and often appeared in hand-carved objects imported from Asia.
Condition:
