Description
Airplane lighter, Japan, 1960s
An original collectible lighter made in Japan in the form of a stylized passenger aircraft. The design, characteristic of the 1960s, combines functionality with a decorative, sculptural form.
The body is made of polished metal with a chrome finish. The lighter mechanism is located in the upper part of the fuselage. When operated, a flame appears, giving the object the distinctive character of a mid-century bar gadget.
The item is stored in its original cardboard box, with a visible quality-control sticker reading “PASSED – JIS / SAIA”, confirming Japanese post-war export production.
The item can be used as a table lighter or as a decorative object in an office, bar, or aviation collection.
Condition: very good vintage condition, with minor signs of use on the metal surface. The mechanism works once fuel has been added.
