Vintage Domus lounge chair, designed by Inge Andersson, Bröderna Andersson, Sweden, 1960s
The modernist Domus lounge chair was designed by Inge Andersson for the Swedish furniture manufacturer Bröderna Andersson in the 1960s. The chair’s elegant frame is made of teak in a chestnut-brown shade. The chair legs are subtly integrated with the armrests and frame. The wide seat and backrest have been newly upholstered in high-quality white bouclé fabric with a thick, pronounced weave. The chair’s contoured construction makes it exceptionally comfortable. It reflects Swedish quality and craftsmanship at the highest level.

Bröderna Andersson was founded in 1912 in Värnforsen, in what is now Ekenässjön. Founder Gottfrid Andersson made effective use of the opportunities offered by a new era. Together with his wife, he embarked on a design journey of the highest calibre that has now lasted over 100 years. In 1946, his sons Sven, Inge and Max Andersson took over the company and established Bröderna Andersson’s Industrier in Ekenässjön. In 1956, they built a new factory on Vetlandavägen. Over the years, the factory was successively expanded. In 1996, cousins from the third generation took over the company and continue the family tradition. Furniture from Bröderna Andersson is an investment that lasts for generations.

The chair is in very good vintage condition. The upholstery has been restored. The seat height is 36 cm.
