Vintage sideboard, Swarzędzkie Fabryki Mebli, PRL, 1970s

Vintage sideboard in walnut veneer, type 2009 from the Kościan furniture set, produced by Swarzędzkie Fabryki Mebli in the 1970s.
The legs and frame supporting the carcasses are made of solid wood. The carcass is finished in walnut veneer.
The sideboard has 3 drawers, 3 doors and 2 removable shelves.
It shows a clear Scandinavian design influence, solid construction and impressive length (as much as 195 cm).
This model is very rarely found on the market, suggesting that the sideboard was produced mainly for export. The factory in Swarzędz produced furniture for Western markets and collaborated with IKEA.
The manufacturer’s mark, with a visible date, is well preserved.
The piece has undergone a full restoration.
