Niels Otto Møller was born in 1920 in Aarhus. In 1939, he obtained his journeyman’s certificate as a furniture cabinetmaker, and subsequently trained at a design school in Aarhus. His name is associated with J.L. Møllers Møbelfabrik, established in Aarhus in 1944, which exported furniture to Germany and the USA from the 1950s and moved production to Højbjerg in the 1960s.
The first chair, no. 1, was made in 1946, while models no. 55 and no. 71 were made in 1951. In 1981, Møller received the Dansk Møbelindustri furniture award. He died in 1982.
