Ole Gjerløv-Knudsen trained as a cabinetmaker under Ludvig Pontoppidan (1952), and around 1955 studied furniture design at the Danish School of Arts and Crafts and architecture at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. From 1962–1990, he taught at the school and headed its furniture design department. Independently, he designed, among other things, the OGK Safari chair and daybed for Skovsheds Møbelfabrik.

Together with Torben Lind, he created the Moduline collection for France & Søn in the 1960s, its best-known piece being the armchair, as well as the Skopa chair for IKEA in 1972, made of propene, with a corduroy cushion. At MIDMOD, pieces by the duo appear as individual items from the secondary market.
