Industrial Scissor-Arm Lamp, Kaiser Idell, Germany, 1950s
An original German scissor-arm wall lamp manufactured by the renowned Kaiser Leuchten company. A classic model with a folding accordion arm, preserved in its original cream-coloured factory finish.
The distinctive metal shade, Bakelite switch on the lamp head, and solid industrial construction make it an excellent example of mid-century German functional design. The lamp is ideally suited to industrial, loft-style, and modernist interiors, as well as vintage collections.
The lamp features a natural patina from use, local abrasions, and signs of ageing consistent with the period in which it was made. The original finish has not been restored. The scissor mechanism works properly and allows adjustment of the reach (50–120 cm) and the shade angle.
