Pair of vintage modular armchairs / sofa, designed by Eberhard Geißler, Oelsa, Germany, 1970s

Pair of armchairs designed by Eberhard Geißler and manufactured at the Oelsa Furniture Factory in Rabenau, East Germany, in the 1970s.
These modular armchairs can be transformed into a sofa by joining the two modules with wing nuts.
The construction is made of upholstery foam, wood-based panels and timber, while the seats are supported by webbing and zigzag springs.
The armchairs are upholstered in a durable, new textured fabric with a dynamic pattern in shades of grey and beige, with black accents, while the base is covered in black natural leather.
These armchairs embody the innovative and flexible spirit of 1970s design, when furniture was created with multifunctionality in mind.
Sofa dimensions: height 70 cm, width 151 cm, depth 82 cm, seat height 42 cm.
The armchairs retain their original labels in good condition.
