Pair of vintage modular armchairs / sofa, designed by Eberhard Geißler, Oelsa, Germany, 1970s

A pair of armchairs designed by Eberhard Geißler, manufactured at the Oelsa furniture factory in Rabenau, East Germany, in the 1970s.
These modular armchairs can be converted into a sofa by joining the two modules with wing nuts.
The construction is made from upholstery foam, wood-based boards and wood, while the seats are supported by webbing and zigzag springs.
The armchairs are upholstered in a durable, new textured fabric with a dynamic pattern in shades of grey and beige, with black accents, while the base is covered in genuine black leather.
These armchairs reflect the innovative and flexible spirit of 1970s design, when furniture was created with multifunctionality in mind.
