Ultima 7 ashtray, designed by Holger Bäckström & Bo Ljungberg, Diverse Ting Malmo Sweden, Denmark, 1960s

Rectangular ashtray in the Mid-Century Modern style. The piece is made of polished aluminium.
The top surface is covered with a regular, repeating relief consisting of parallel rows of conical, truncated ridges and depressions.
This undulating geometric pattern gives the top its distinctive modular and sculptural aesthetic, optimising its function as a multi-point cigarette rest.
The item shows signs of use.
The maker’s mark is located on the reverse.
