Uranium glass trinket box, Hoffmann & Schlevogt, Czechoslovakia, 1970s
Description
Uranium glass trinket box, Hoffmann & Schlevogt, Czechoslovakia, 1970s
Decorative, round trinket box with a lid, produced in the 1970s by the respected Czech company Hoffmann & Schlevogt.
The box was made from frosted, pressed uranium glass with a distinctive, vivid yellow-green colour.
The lid and side walls of the container are decorated with a relief motif depicting stylised female figures.
The box consists of two separate parts: a deep bowl with a smooth interior and a perfectly fitting, domed lid.
Thanks to the unique composition of the glass, the piece exhibits strong fluorescent properties and glows spectacularly under UV light, making it a classic example of artistic glass craftsmanship.
