Vintage shell armchairs, Lubuskie Furniture Factories in Świebodzin, PRL, 1970s
A pair of Fabian shell armchairs was produced by Lubuskie Furniture Factories in Poland in the 1970s. Their shells were made of fibreglass, allowing for distinctive sculptural silhouettes with integrated, curved armrests.
Rounded, deep Space Age seats were set on slender, turned wooden legs, lending visual lightness to their substantial forms.
The furniture has been reupholstered in bouclé fabric in shades of pink, beige and cream.
The armchairs have undergone a full professional restoration.
