Bernt Petersen (1937–2017) was a trained cabinetmaker (1957), and in 1960 graduated from Danmarks Designskole. He worked, among others, for Hans J. Wegner, and in 1963 opened his own studio. From 1973 to 1978 he taught at Designskolen, and from 1978 to 1985 he lectured at the furniture school of the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts.
He designed simply shaped furniture in light woods, such as ash and beech, intended for industrial production. A small rosewood and rattan stool from 1959 is considered one of his finest works. At MIDMOD, his furniture appears as individual pieces from the secondary market.
