Topan VP6 pendant lamp designed by Verner Panton and produced by Louis Poulsen is one of the most recognisable models of Danish design from the 1960s. The design was created in 1959 and was the first Panton lamp to enter serial production.

The shade is made of metal lacquered in an intense orange colour. Its simple, spherical form fits perfectly into the Space Age aesthetic characteristic of Panton’s designs. The open construction ensures an even diffusion of light, making the lamp suitable both as table lighting and as an element of interior design.

The Topan model is valued for its clear form and functionality – it provides pleasant, diffused light, while its compact size allows it to be used individually or in groups.

This example is preserved in very good condition, with minimal signs of use in the form of light scratches. It bears the manufacturer’s mark, which is relatively rare.

Verner Panton was one of the most influential Danish designers of the 20th century, known for his experiments with form and colour, as well as designs rooted in a futuristic aesthetic.
