This Danish teak desk from the 1960s reflects the principles of Scandinavian Modern, a style that emphasised functionality, clear construction and restrained form. The piece has an orderly, symmetrical composition – two drawer units on either side and a central legroom area, subtly emphasised by a gentle cut-out in the lower part of the apron. Solutions of this kind were characteristic of Danish desk designs from this period.

Teak is characterised by a warm, slightly golden hue and a pronounced grain pattern that accentuates the horizontal arrangement of the top and drawer fronts. The surface has a semi-matt finish, preserving the natural character of the material while reducing light reflections.

The drawer fronts are fitted with integrated wooden handles in a simple, geometric shape. In 1960s designs, handles were treated as an integral part of the overall form rather than as separate details, allowing the piece to retain a cohesive visual appearance. The desk rests on slender, slightly tapered solid-wood legs, which lend lightness to the construction and raise the body above the floor.
