Description
Small stoneware candle holder, Gunnars Keramik Höganäs, Sweden, 1960s
A miniature collectible stoneware candle holder made by the Swedish manufactory Gunnars Keramik Höganäs in the 1960s. Handmade with the utmost care and attention to detail. A chunky candle holder finished in light green with an irregular tone. Glazed. Marked with the manufacturer’s mark.
Gunnars Keramik Höganäs was founded in 1968 by Gunnar Borg, a leading representative of 20th-century Scandinavian ceramic design. After leaving Andersson & Johansson, he continued producing miniature vases, lamp bases, candle holders and ashtrays independently. He used white stoneware clay imported from the Netherlands. Borg worked in his workshop until his death in 2007.
The candle holder is in original vintage condition.
