This faience ashtray was made at the “Włocławek” Faience Works in Włocławek in the 1950s.
The item is hand-painted and glazed, designed by Wit Płażewski, ashtray model no. 204.

Wit Płażewski studied in Łódź, where he graduated from an art school, and later in Gdańsk, where he studied sculpture. He earned his diploma in ceramic design in Wrocław, at the Faculty of Industrial Design.
Throughout his career, he created numerous works, including monuments and sculptures, and was also the author of many medals and statuettes.
The item bears the manufacturer’s mark.
