Knut Bernhard Grane was born on 10 March 1926 in Gothenburg and died on 26 February 2016. He was a Swedish graphic artist, illustrator, painter and craftsman. Grane graduated from Hvitfeldtska Läroverket in Gothenburg in 1945, then studied art under Nils Wedel at the Slöjdföreningen school and at the graphic arts school of the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. After completing his studies, he was employed as a draughtsman at the Swedish Telegram Agency, and later at the Allhema publishing house in Malmö. He participated in the Spring Exhibition at Charlottenborg in 1951. His public works include a blacksmith at the Rosengård housing estate, a ceramic wall in Högaholm, an artistic decoration at Högaholm School in Malmö, a painting for Herrljunga Cementindustri, an entrance decoration for Skånska Brand in Lund, and a monumental painting above the stage at the Amiralen dance palace. Today, his works can be seen in museums in Gothenburg, Malmö and Helsingborg.

The work is in its original vintage condition.
