Oak sideboard with wooden handles, Scandinavia, 1960s

Modernist sideboard made in Scandinavia in the 1960s. It is crafted from oak, considered a regal wood. This is a very strong and durable material, characterised by rich grain. The wood is resistant to scratches and damage, and gains elegance with age. This sideboard has been finished in a dark, varied colour palette, ranging from brownish brown to an intense dark brown that, depending on the angle of the light, may appear black. The bold, patterned grain runs harmoniously throughout, creating a unique visual effect. The front consists of a pair of sliding doors. Inside, there is one shelf and an open storage space. The raised edges of the frame are also visible and, together with the nuanced colouring, emphasise the multidimensionality of this design. The geometric wooden handles are the perfect complement to the front of the piece. The elegant legs are made of wood and correspond beautifully with the overall form. This sideboard will work well in a variety of interiors, enhancing their character.

The sideboard has been conserved and is in very good vintage condition.
